"Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination, nor both together, go to the making of a genius. Love, love, love: that is the soul of genius." — Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart So much love at Cafe Gratitude! Did you know that deep in the heart of all of us is a source of pure, unconditional love? The Greatest Love is free flowing timeless love with no limits. It is the love that a mother can feel for her child. It is the love we read about in poems. It is the love we long to have. Although most of us have experienced different forms of love like romantic affection, comradeship, appreciation for family and friends, have you tapped into the unconditional love is the highest form? It is extensive, true, and eternal. Photo Credit: Bitmoji About 7 years ago, while attending an employee party on a hot summers day, I found myself quenching my dehydrated thirst with rosé. Although this wasn't the wisest idea, something beautiful blossomed from this experience. With each glass, layers of barriers and inhibitions began to shed off of me until I was telling everyone that I loved them. By the end of the night couldn't stop smiling and saying, "Love, Love, Love!" That was the day that I learned that love is at our core. To this day, my fellow employees will occasionally smile at me and say "love, love, love." “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. You may wonder why you do not feel this love or why only sometimes. We all have challenges that keep us from experiencing this greatest love. These challenges may present themselves in our relationships, health, or finances. “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” This love exists in everyone and everything, so why is it so hard to align with and embody the Greatest Love in our lives today? Good karma is created with loving service that makes others happier and healthier. Bad karma is created with unpleasant service that hurts or harms others. Bad karma can block us. What can you do to align with the Greatest Love and become a more loving person, creating good karma? In our lifetime, we are given the opportunity to balance our karma by learning lessons, asking forgiveness and serving unconditionally to unblock any bad karma. We are learning to forgive and surrender to bring nourishment and light to the soul of Love. “Love is the bridge between you and everything.” What lessons have you learned from the events of your day or week? Even though I try to organize my week and my life, this week I encountered some cancellations and rescheduling. Since I have been practicing more meditation and mindfulness in my daily life, I realized that I no longer react with such frustration and disappoint as I used to. I remind myself that NOW is the moment to live peacefully and happily. I simply tap into my deep breath as my source of great love and send compassion and understanding to those who had more challenging situations to deal with. “What would it be like if you lived each day, each breath, as a work of art in progress? Imagine that you are a Masterpiece unfolding every second of every day, a work of art taking form with every breath.” “All great transcendental art, is not merely symbolic or imaginary: it is a direct invitation to recognize and realize a deeper dimension of our very own being. In the eternal trinity of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful.” Dr. & Master Zhi Gang Sha, a world-renowned healer, humanitarian, spiritual master, and 11 time New York Times bestselling author presents in his new book, Greatest Love, the key to healing and transformation is to heal and transform the soul first, then the mind and body will follow. To transform an area of our life, we need to transform our frequency and vibration to higher and purer levels. “Everything is frequency. When we raise our vibration, we nourish, unblock and bring success to every aspect of our life, increasing abundance and energy, health, happiness, inner peace, and harmony in relationships. We can start by loving our inner divinity. We can send gratitude to the intelligence in our cells, organs, mind, emotions, bones, muscles, breath, thoughts, etc. Then move to the outer divinity and intelligence by sending appreciation and consideration to the other human beings, animals, mountains, trees, stars, sun, moon, mother earth, planets, and galaxies. To connect with our spirit use sound through breath to say “I love you and thank you, apologize for bad karma to your inner and outer souls.” We can also use singing such as Da Ai or Om to communicate this acknowledgement. Next, touch the part of your body that needs healing, using your mind power, imagine golden light shining around the area of your life that needs healing and restoration. “If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.” “Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.” When I paint, I feel an incredible peace. This stillness also manifests when I do the dishes or other chores without trying to multitask. "All artists, whether they know it or not create from a place of inner stillness, a place of no mind." When you flow through a conscious movement with complete concentration, you are aligning your intention and allowing it to manifest with the divine within and around. Tracing or even coloring from an adult coloring book, can bring us peace, harmony, healing, and forgiveness. Quiet coloring inspirational words and yoga poses with grandma According to the method prescribed in the Greatest Love book, the technique is called “Tao Source Calligraphy.” In many Asian cultures like China, Japan or Arabic, calligraphy is a cursive sometimes angular writing style of high aesthetic value. Often times in the Chinese mind, calligraphy and poetry are mixed up together. In this practice, it is more about the process of movement, intention, and clear mind than it is about the end result. You can practice this method many times see different results based on the quality of ink and water, the brush used (shape, size, stretch, and hair type), the pressure, inclination, direction of the brush, bold strokes, soft strokes, smooth or toothed borders, speed and finally spirit given to this character. Just as in mediation, it is wise to trace for 10 minutes each time, possibly 3 times a day to come back to your source. Practice a while. When you are finished, close your practice with gratitude. Then sit in the frequency and vibration of this practice. You have just received an enormous blessing of Divine. Relish it, absorb it, receive it. “Where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art.” To learn more about the specific mantras, technique, and testimonials to this form of Greatest Love Calligraphy, buy the book.
