Everything in the universe is energy and many things can be changed with energy. Every person, every thought, every emotion is energy. Our energy fields and systems are alive and intelligent. Energy fields can be cleansed, balanced, normalized and healed. Our auras are like magnets picking up vibrational energies that are floating around everywhere we go. It is critical to protect your aura on a daily basis, especially if you are emphatic and easily pick up on other people’s energy. Regular aura cleansing is a great way to keep your energy field clear of past attachments and imbalances. Aura cleansing helps release pain and anxiety, leaving you feeling calm and centered. If we’re living a balanced lifestyle, this should happen naturally. When we’re overworked, malnourished, and sleep deprived, however, our energetic hygiene can get neglected. Aura cleansing also helps to end unhealthy relationships you have with other people and let go of the energy of their ideas, expectations, and pressures. Here in Cusco, at the Paramatma Holistic Healing center, I decided to try this aura cleansing service. After loosing up to a Thai Massage at Paramatma Healing House, I opted have an Aura Cleansing to see what it was like. I laid on my back in Svasana Pose, legs hip width distance with feet turned out, shoulder blades tucked behind me and palms to the sky. I closed my eyes and Dhruva Maharaj placed a blanket over my body and an eye pillow over my eyes. He directed me to continue to focus on my breathing- long, slow, deep breaths from my belly. I felt very relaxed with the music as sounds of nature, water trickling and birds chirping. Dhruva occasionally rang a chime associated with each chakra and I felt waves of tingling energy passing through me. I felt a lightness in my body and spaciousness in my soul. Towards the end of the hour, Dhruva asked me to place my hands on my heart and send a message of gratitude towards the Oneness of the Universe. I reflected on everything that I'm grateful for: starting with the basics- food, water, apartment, daily walks in the park with blossoming nature, health, relationships with my family, siblings, dear friends, ability to travel like a free bird, excitement for life, and all of the kind people that I have met, taught, or learned from. I'm also grateful for this experience. Further, he directed me to imagine how I am going to send the peaceful, positive, loving energy back into the Universe by singing a song, giving a flower to the mountains, and tenderly smiling at the people I come into contact with. He wrapped up this session with a mantra of shanti and Om, along with some other phrases that I couldn't quite make out. Finally, since my belly decided to add to the acoustics of the session, he encouraged me to eat clean food on this trip. I had a delicious quiche for lunch at a charming French Cafe, so for dinner, I powered up with some greens: lettuce, broccoli, green beans, arugula, and avocado. On my way out, I noticed a string of colorful Origami Cranes, a beautiful sculptural representation of lightness in being- feeling free and spacious like a paper bird! By cleansing your aura daily (ideally in the morning and night), you rid yourself of negative energies that you’ve picked up from your environment or the people around you. One way to cleanse your own aura is to start paying attention to your thoughts. Focus on the bright side of things. If you notice that a negative thought is trying to creep in, confront it with a positive one. One way to protect your aura is to make sure you surround yourself with more positive people than negative ones. Further, gentle exposure to sunlight stimulates the flow of your own energy. Some lower vibrations cannot exist with exposure to bright light. Next, essential oils specifically are great for purifying, grounding, and uplifting the energy. In addition, gardening, walking in the woods, and sitting by a body of water or a bonfire are all powerful ways you can get close to nature and rid the aura of negative energy. Finally, creating something you're enthusiastic about gives you a 'creative high'. These surges of creative energy stimulate the flow of your own energy and support you in releasing blocks and unwanted energies. Aura Energy Meditation:
Sit comfortably in a relaxed position. Bring your awareness to your breath. Then, visualize a white light surrounding your body. Focus your concentration on each of the Chakras, starting with the root. Imagine a glowing sphere as you contemplate the associated properties of this energy: Red: 1st Chakra -Root- Your ability to support yourself and survive in this world. Orange: 2nd Chakra - Sacral- Your emotions and creative energy. Yellow: 3rd Chakra - Solar Fire- Your energy distribution center. Your willpower. Green: 4th Chakra - Breathing-Heart- Your sense of love for yourself and the world. Light Blue: 5th Chakra - Throat, Space and Sound- Your ability to communicate. Indigo: 6th Chakra - Third Eye Wisdom- Your clairvoyant center and ability to visualize. Purple: 7th Chakra - Crown Conciousness- Your connection to your higher self. Now, reconnect all of this energy to back to a halo of white light. From the crown of your head, let it spill out over you and down under your feet. White is pure and highly protective. It is also full of love from the ultimate Oneness of the Universe. Now that your halo is around you, you are protected from any negative energy coming inside your pure energy zone. Say to yourself, “This beautiful water is cleansing me and healing me. It transforms my entire body into light, inside and out. All of my fears and negativity are washed away."
